Starting in 2020, The Conrail Historical Society will be undertaking a project to record and publish oral histories from Conrail veterans. We’re looking to record the stories of working for Conrail in various positions, all the way from brakemen to upper management. Selected stories will be transcribed from the recordings and published in our Conrail Quarterly magazine.
Participants in our program will be gifted a single year of honorary membership in The Conrail Historical Society, which includes four print issues of our Conrail Quarterly magazine.
If you are interested in participating, please click here to fill out the form online. Alternatively, you can download, print, and mail this form to us! Once you’ve submitted your form, a CRHS volunteer will reach out to you directly to schedule an interview and record your story. This can be conducted in person, written/emailed, or over the phone – whichever you prefer!
If you are interested in volunteering to conduct and record interviews with Conrail veterans, please reach out to Rudy Garbely at rudy.garbely@thecrhs.org. Remember, you can be a Conrail veteran and still volunteer to interview your peers!
