Starting at 9:00 AM (Eastern Time), The CRHS will hold its 3rd quarter 2023 membership meeting at SMS Rail Lines in southern New Jersey!
This is a CRHS members-only event. All attendees MUST be CRHS members to attend due to insurance. Consider joining The CRHS if this event (and others like it) sound like fun to you - memberships start at just $30!
All attendees MUST register by 7/21. Individual registrations required. Attendance is limited to 160 people.
No open-toed shoes. We will be on a working railroad, so please dress and act accordingly.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
9:00 AM - attendee check-in starts at 513 Sharptown Road, Logan Township, NJ, 08085 (the SMS shop complex) (NOTE: only pre-registered attendees will be permitted to enter)
10:00 AM - shop tours of diesel, steam, and paint shops
11:00 AM - train trip around the yard with PRR DS-4-4-1000 #9069, an ex-CNJ coach, and ex-CR/PRSL GP38 #2003 (depending on number of attendees, we may split into two smaller groups and do two shop tours and two train rides)
12:00 noon - pizza lunch in the shop break room
12:30 PM - 3rd quarter CRHS membership meeting in the shop break room
1:00-1:30 PM - attendees leave Bridgeport in personal vehicles and drive to 650 Alloway Woodstown Road, Woodstown, NJ 08098
2:00 PM - 36-mile round-trip train ride on Salem Branch with SMS S12 #304, ex-CNJ coach, and RDG caboose
3:45 PM - end of train ride
4:00 PM - second Salem Branch ride (if needed, based on attendance/capacity and if people want to chase or ride)
5:45 PM - end of second Salem Branch ride
